The Torres Brothers’ market cuisine: from the stall to the counter

At Parada Torres there are no formalities, white tablecloths or long waits. We open at lunchtime, just when Santa Caterina Market is at its most vibrant, to offer honest, straightforward cooking without filters. Here, the produce is the one true star: always top quality, locally sourced and seasonal whenever possible.

Take a seat at our counter or at one of our tables and enjoy timeless cooking made from the heart.

Market cooking, casseroles and live fire

We want to bring back the clean, familiar flavours of home cooking, traditional tavern cuisine and classic Catalan recipes that comfort from the very first bite. Our menu draws inspiration from the slow simmer of traditional stews and the intensity of live charcoal grilling.

It is the technique and craftsmanship of Sergio and Javier Torres placed at the service of the neighbourhood: beloved dishes reinterpreted with subtle contemporary touches while preserving their essence and respect for their origins.

Today’s specials on the blackboard

Don’t expect a static menu; our cooking changes with the seasons and the daily catch. We have shaped our offering so you can enjoy the market your own way, whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite at the counter or settling in for a leisurely meal.

To start and share

The timeless classics that never disappoint. From small appetisers such as gildas to our homemade ham croquettes, sea bass Russian salad or freshly made potato and onion omelette

Prime seasonal produce

The heart of our craft. Dishes led by the season, such as traditional veal fricandó with mushrooms, line-caught squid grilled à la plancha, turbot with citrus meunière sauce or the iconic Banyoles farmhouse sausage served with Santa Pau beans.

Something sweet and daily specials

Proper homemade desserts to finish on a high note, from bread with chocolate, olive oil and sea salt to Catalan cream brûléed with rosemary. And don’t leave without asking about today’s special.

Another glass of house wine… and let’s see where the day takes us.

A great market meal deserves a great drink alongside it. We have curated a wine list that is lively, honest and unpretentious, giving centre stage to Catalan wines from small wineries, independent winemakers and natural labels that respect the vineyard.

Enjoy a glass with your tapas, share a bottle with friends or raise a traditional porrón at the centre of the table. This is a place to enjoy the true spirit of neighbourhood life.
