The space: another stall beneath the roof of Santa Caterina.
Parada Torres was not built on top of the market; it was born from it. Occupying one of the liveliest corners of Enric Miralles’ iconic structure, this restaurant was designed by completely removing the physical barriers that separate it from the neighbourhood. There are no monumental entrances or rigid transitions: the rhythm of the market’s aisles flows naturally into our space. It is a spatial tribute to popular culture, conceived to leave formality behind and blend seamlessly with the light and vibrant energy of Ciutat Vella.
The design of a contemporary bar: roots, metal and marble.
To bring this corner to life, we combined the hospitality expertise of Pantea Group with the spatial sensitivity of the design studio Genialidades. The brief was clear: recreate the soul of the traditional bars where we grew up, but through a clean, modern and slightly rebellious language.
The result is a piece of contemporary craftsmanship where noble materials converse with the building’s architecture: wrought iron pays tribute to the old market kiosks, marble embraces the traditional counters, and the lighting highlights the textures of kraft paper and wood. A space carrying the signature of two teams who believe in places with true identity.
An open kiosk at the heart of Barcelona’s bustle.
Forget strict rules and formal codes. We have created a fully integrated and functional space where the only real boundary is your appetite.
The Great Central Bar
The heart of the stall. A counter that pays homage to popular tavern culture, designed for spontaneous visits, a vermouth, a perfectly poured beer, and the chance to watch the chefs working over live flames just a few centimetres away.
The Dining Area
A bright and welcoming space that combines high tables for a quick and lively bite with low tables designed for those who prefer to slow down and enjoy our traditional stews at the pace they deserve.
The Terrace
The link between the pulse of the market and the open sky of Barcelona, ideal for watching neighbourhood life go by while sharing seasonal dishes.
